No matter how much you use the drive-thru, you probably don't know all the useful drive-thru life hacks, how you're being tricked, or what it's like to work at those windows. But never fear folks, we're here to illuminate the best hush-hush drive-thru secrets that are out there.
As you pull up to the drive-thru in your pajamas or while picking your nose, you may feel like you're invisible. Unfortunately, this most likely isn't the case. In fact, there's probably a CCTV camera focused in on your hungover face.
A Starbucks employee named Brittney revealed this fact in a viral TikTok she made. In this video, Brittney films two drive-thru customers while hilariously singing the words, "Thank you for pulling into Starbucks." When she starts to sing, you can see her patrons' surprise, and after she finishes her operatic moment, she asks for their order, and everyone has a cheeky giggle.
While this TikTok is hilarious, a lot of people online were surprised to discover that they were actually being watched as they ordered their fast food. One person named Lindsey commented,
"OMG THEY CAN SEE US."
Meanwhile, another commenter wrote,
"I'm now SO embarrassed for all the times I made silly faces at the ordering screen."
And as you scroll through the rest of replies, it becomes incredibly apparent that a lot of people didn't know that they could be seen at the drive-thru. So, the next time you're getting your drive-thru tacos, make sure your PJs are on fleek.

Do you prefer using the drive-thru or going inside to order?
Cant go inside many places now so thats a dumb question.
Besides issues with menu items. Businesses keep lowering their labor budget within stores. Pulling cars ahead also has to do with drive thru goals most places once you pull up to the window they have 60 seconds to get you in & out. Yeah. Drive thru times are lengthy now compared to yrs ago.
Can you please do a video on the best ranked onion rings
I'm excited that AI will be taking orders soon.
With the ice tip, SONIC has the most valuable ice. It's ready to eat which many people like, especially dialysis patients.
I wish sandwich chains like Jimmy Johns, Jersey Mikes, Firehouse Subs, Potbelly, etc had drive thrus.
We pull people ahead to cut down on drive thru time. If they sit at the window waiting then the timer keeps running
i hate drive thrus, they screw it up way more often than going in
Bag of ice was the most useful and surprising piece of information for me.

Port Macquarie MacDonald's fries bought on the drive through are always half empty. Employers are told to squeeze the card board chip cup to minimise fries & most won't go back to complain
"They ---- you at the drive thru!" --Joe Pesci

Customers making overly large orders in the drive-thru is usually the biggest reason for slow service.
I think the worker are also to blame too, I have been to drive trus and the workers take forever to even ask "How can I help you today?"
Yes, large complicated special orders at the drive thru are the worst. But I've also noticed that the person in front of me in the drive thru is often there waiting for an eternity then you see their stupid effing parfait dessert thing handed to them, often enough to see a pattern.
As someone who works for a chain as a Drive Through cashier/order-taker, I will 100% get behind 3:03 and it's big message at 4:07-4:09. Know what you want before you pull in, or if you're a first time customer, let us know so we can appeal to you what we have. I won't speak of whom I am employed by, but it's no joke. You sit there, taking two minutes to order, where we at the Drive-Through have three and a half to get you out of our window; preferably, yes, with your food.
@Pasta Chocolate I can't even fathom touch screens in the Drive-Thru
i hope they don't do touch screens. Those are bound to get soooo dirty from everyone's different hands touching it. Not everyone has good hygiene in washing their hands.
@Ivan Hernandez No, but hilariously *where* I work you guys are our neighbor. (And then a Loves Gas Station/Arbies on the other side)
Hmmmmmm Taco bell? The tacobell i work at we have 3 mins and a half but what you say is so true

i hope they don't do touch screens. Those are bound to get soooo dirty from everyone's different hands touching it. Not everyone has good hygiene in washing their hands.
it's coming. the people persisted and eventually congress got involved and we sued the tobacco companies and drove them back for years of putting out a heavily marketed dangerous product with tremendous associated health costs and the day will come when the fast food industry will have to be more accountable for the heavily marketed unhealthy and addictive products they sell primarily to kids and overworked families... they are on every corner selling uber delicious high fat high sodium high cholesterol high calorie foods with TREMENDOUS LONG TERM HEALTH costs. Maybe not right away but hopefully people will organize and force them to provide a total overhaul of the menu with ONLY healthy products.
THE FAST FOOD COMPANIES SPy ON YOU AND SO DOES THE GOVERMENT.
You are watched everywhere. Shouldnt been a surprised that drive thrus are recording.
@Fallon Cho I'm sorry you had a bad experience, that's more of a personal level of butt-headery than the store's fault itself. Where I work, we wear headsets and a ding goes off when your car hits our pressure plate at the speaker, so we know when to immediately acknowledge you.
I hate that they can see you. Maybe thats why whenever I go to a drive-thru they take forever to even knowledge me, just to be mean.
Supreme Court Ruling - There is no expectation of privacy in public
We're not recording you, we're seeing how many people we have in drive, as to further prep our food production.
